MISSION,

A mysterious number machine is active. One player - the Clockmaster - knows its hidden rule. Everyone else is an

Investigator. Investigators choose numbers, observe outputs, make predictions, form conjectures, attack false ideas with

counterexamples, discover cycles, and finally determine what happens to every allowed starting number.

The central twist: discovering the rule is not necessarily the end. First CRACK THE MACHINE by identifying its

transition rule. Then MASTER THE MACHINE by classifying its long-term behavior. Finally, PROVE IT by showing why

no other fate is possible.
